Penny

I was so excited to get an e-mail from the mom to a beautiful yellow lab. I love doing pet photos. Penny was great to work with. If Mom hadn't told me Penny was 12, I never would have guessed. Penny was full of energy. Despite that, she was very cooperative. Penny loves her tennis balls, and I used that to me advantage! Penny took some great shots. I couldn't wait to share.

Week 13: You with 13 things.

This was a neat assignment. I had so many ideas that I still wish I could have done. But, as usual, family comes first, some I had to limit my time. So, I will start with some of the ones I did and finish up with my official choice for this week. Enjoy!

 Myself with 13 necklaces.

Myself with 13 pairs of shoes.

This was an attempt at combining two pictures. The stars are just small stickers, then I pasted myself on the picture with 13 stars. You would never know that the picture of my, there were three kids trying to get in it too!

Myself with 13 spoons (look close, I'm there), cool tones.

Big Boy L!

This big guy was a typical two-year-old boy! Very full of energy and ready to go, go, go!! I know Mom was probably freaking out inside think "why won't you sit still???" I know I would be the same if it was one of my boys! Despite his high energy level (which is normal for a two-year-old boy, I know, having three boys myself!!!), I managed to get some cute shots! We did try to get some with Mom at the end, but I think L had other ideas! I would love to have these two back in the summer to try for more Mom and child photos, maybe outside this time! But in the meantime, here are some from this studio session.

These two above are a before and after of what my studio really looked like. I tried pulling out some toys to keep him in one spot for a few minutes. It did work, only for  few minutes!!!I thought this would be a good example of my ever expanding editing skills!

The C Family

My first full family session. This was fun. This family just looked so natural sitting for the camera. They had a great sense of humor, and made me laugh quite a few times. This family is absolutely one I would love to have back!

Baby B.

So, this was my second baby girl session. My first being Baby M (which I just realized I haven't posted yet!!!!)
Baby B was adorable. She was accompanied by Mom and Dad. You could see the love that Mom and Dad had for baby B. She was 4 months old here, and very cooperative. Mom said B didn't like tummy time, but I had her on her tummy most of the time, and she did great! Maybe just because she was somewhere new....

The L Brothers

This was the third group I had in my studio last weekend. It was a group of four brothers. They were a lot of fun to work with. they each surely had their own unique personality. You could also tell the really love each other too. Although, I am sure Mom and Dad may say they had their moments of not being so loving. as all siblings do at some point!!! What I will show here is one portrait of each boy in order from youngest (2) to oldest (12).

First up: L.

Above is a photo that I antiqued. I am just trying to show some different techniques.

 Second oldest, C.

Third oldest, N. I loved his expression for this one!

And the oldest, T. He seems to fit this role perfectly. He knows the drill when it comes to helping with the younger brothers! He was really helpful with L, the youngest.

And now, some groups photos of the brothers:

This group was a fun bunch to work with. I hope I get the chance again!

Week 12: Something New

Happy Spring Blogger World! This week's challenge was something new. Something new this week, at least in my part of the world, is the season. March 20 was the first day of Spring! Along with the calender saying it is now spring, I can see signs of spring everywhere. Stores are stocked with Easter, Passover, and other spring season things. Mother Nature is starting to wake backup as well. That being said, my pictures this week were of just that, nature. Here are some new signs of the new season!

This last one was my official submission. Next week is Yourself with Thirteen Things! I have some idea already, but I hope pondering it some more, I will have some cool ideas to try! See you then!

Week 11: Something Old

OK, I had so many ideas for this that I didn't even get to the all!!! Here are the ones I did get to. this first batch are historical buildings from around here that I photographed basically driving by them!

This was a one-room school house that was open from 1842-1954. I tried to make the photograph look antique here as well. The towns historical society has this open to the public twice a year, and I have made it to one of them recently. It was neat to learn the whole history of this building!
Here is the Folsom Tavern in Exeter, NH. Originally build as a tavern in 1775. It operated as such until 1805. There after it was a gift shop for rail passengers, a restaurant, oil company office, and is now called the American Interdependence Museum.
Here is the Academy Building of Phillips Exeter Academy. The school was originally opened in 1761. This particular building was built between build 1914 and 1915. This school has continued to grow and have buildings added throughout it's existence. This Academy is also famous for the fact that Abraham Lincoln's son attended here. Abraham Lincoln himself visited the school during that time.

I am not completely sure to the history of this building. I believe it was a cobbler shop that operated in the mid 1800s. The second shot was my attempt at antiquing the photo.

And now onto my official subject for something old. This ring was my grandmothers. It was given to her by my grandfather for their 15th wedding anniversary. They were married in 1951 or 52. So this ring was from about 1966. It may not be as old as the buildings above, but I choose this because it is near and dear to me. My grandmother passed this ring onto my mother when she married. Then mom passed it to me after my grandmother passed away. I feel honored that I was chosen to have this ring. I may not wear it, but I do hold it close in my heart. It reminds me of the love my grandparents had for each other and how they were together for life. That is a rare thing to see in this country these days, and I can only hope my husband and I grow old together as they did!

This last photograph was my official choice for this weeks challenge. Up next week: something new!
